Staff check published shifts in the app. They can see the agreed plan without looking for a photo of the rota or asking someone to resend it.
If they want a change, they can claim an open shift or request a swap. Manager approval confirms the outcome.
At the workplace
Start the shift with a clear record.
Use mobile clock in, record breaks and clock out. An activated square workplace NFC sticker offers another way to begin clocking with a compatible phone.
Attendance information reaches the manager’s review process, connecting what staff record with the hours the business checks.

Employees check their leave balance and request time off through the app. Managers review the dates and record the decision in TeamZap.

Staff read workplace messages and notices in the app. They can respond to notice acknowledgement requirements where needed.
Useful updates remain available between working days, so a colleague can return to the information before the next shift.

What can staff do in the TeamZap app?
Employees can check published shifts, record attendance and breaks, request leave, claim open shifts, request swaps and use messages and notices.
Do shift requests immediately change the rota?
No. Open shift claims and swaps need manager approval. A request and a confirmed assignment are separate steps.
Can employees check their leave balance?
Yes. Staff can view their balance and submit a leave request from the app.
Do staff need NFC to record attendance?
The app supports mobile clocking without tapping a sticker. An activated NFC sticker offers an additional workplace entry point for a compatible phone.
Is staff app use included in the introductory offer?
Staff app use is included during the introductory software period. Check the pricing page for the commercial offer; no payment card is required to create an account.
Can staff use a web portal as well?
The employee web portal covers published shifts and leave. Mobile clocking and the app’s communication features are separate from that portal experience.
